Truth Worthy or Nah?

I chose this quote because I feel I live by this rule. As Mark Twain so eloquently put it,

“Never tell the truth to people who are not worthy of it.”

There are so many people we deal with on an occassional or day-to-day basis that simply cannot handle ‘your’ truth. That is not to say that they are bad people, but maybe they have not have not experienced what you are going through and simply cannot relate. I truly believe that they mean well in their intentions, but cannot begin to handle your truth.

Now this does not mean going around and withholding information to people who need it and are requesting it from you. It is our duty to fill that need somehow, even if it is to say, “Now is not the time for us to have this conversation. maybe we’ll ‘do lunch’ one day and discuss it.” That way you are not blowing them off. i mean, I am no expert, perse (wink).

In a nutshell, we all have situations in our lives that we simply cannot share with others.

People can turn on you in an instant and you wouldn’t be the wiser that they are spreading your secrets around town.

Today’s Assignment:

A blank page can be intimidating. Sometimes it’s helpful to use someone else’s words to give you a boost. Today, use a quote or passage from something you’ve read to introduce your post. You’ll see a similar technique at the beginning of a book or chapter in the form of an epigraph.

  1. YOU KNOW MY STRUGGLE. MY GOD, BLESS YOUR SOUL.

I’ve led an odd little life, and in effort to avoid turning casual conversation into the “me hour”, I gloss over some parts with people. Not because I enjoy being a glamorous, mysterious, figure, but for the same reasons you give-it sometimes isn’t appropriate and can be hard for people to handle, and I was blessed with relatives that taught me that some people are toxic, and best kept in the dark.
