Was your 2017 Cozy?

The end of the year of 2017 is finally upon us. It’s time to reflect on the good, the bad, the ugly as well as the indifferent. It is all relevant and helped us all to arrive at this destination together.

We’ve seen a new U.S. President be named, we’ve seen countless riots disguised as protests. We’ve watched the NFL become political, when they should just be throwing touchdowns, the one thing they are paid to do. We’ve seen family and friends disintegrate due to their personal beliefs. Such a tragedy.

Hopefully, 2018 will bring some overdue peace to those who are still in an uproar since January 2017. Let’s all be realistic that the problems we are facing did not just manifest themselves this year. If anything they’ve been brought to our afternoon, unapologetically. These issues we must all, collectively be brood accountable for them. Even when we are silent, we have still chosen a side.

So, for the rest of 2017, forget the past, since it cannot bee changed. But focus on your future. Make it full of love, understanding, empathy, and all of the coziness you can muster. Life is what we make it and I choose to LiveFree and LoveOnPurpose into God says otherwise.

Happy New Year Everyone. 👌🏾🎉🎉🎉💯

Shame on you Mr. Brown

I am black. I am proud. I love my country. And I DO NOT approve of this message. Most blacks that I know, would not either. This is pure foolishness and adds to the dysfunctional conversation that is being had in the media these days. Every culture has been enslaved, at one point. My family has never allowed any of us to accept the victim role, under any circumstance and that we are accountable for our own lives. This Professor is the perfect reason why I pulled them out of school to homeschool for a few years. (Just my 2 cents)

To know what I am talking about, read the post at the link below. It is a professor in Maryland at a University who believes that all whites should find any black person and deposit their unearned money into their account. The problem is this is being taught at a higher education location. The youth who are uninformed will take this as gospel. I do not and will NEVER agree with such a stance against any group of people.

Together in Time w/Burnette

A song comes on the radio and instantly, you’re transported to a different time and place. Which song(s) bring back memories for you and why? Be sure to mention the song, and describe the memory it evokes.

For me. it is Carol Burnette‘s song  “I’m So Glad We Had This Time Together”  that she used to say at the end of every show. She was and still is my favorite improv comedians. She is one the greatest ever. Growing up, I tried my hardest not to miss any of her shows. Her shows and performances are ageless and timeless. This song is a song for he grandmother who had passed away and at the end of every episode she would tug on her ear and say, I’m so glad we had this time tother. Now, that I am older and have lost my granny, who was also my BFF, I can truly relate to this song.

Mountain Out Of A Mole-Hill *Sorta

Maybe our paths will meet up again

Or maybe that time has passed and we must now look

Upon our own separate futures and wish each other the best

Never forget the times that we have shared together, for

That is what joined us in the first place

All of our trials and tribulations have led to our current life path.

I am thankful for all of my scars that I have earned while climbing this mountain that we call life.

Never forget that there is no mountain high enough and no valley low enough that will deter me from Living Free & Loving On Purpose
